Animal Life In Las Vegas

Las Vegas has stars that are of the four-footed variety too. Not to mention reptiles, birds, insects and marine life as well. For animal lovers, whether you’re an adult or a kid, you’ll find a lot to choose from in Las Vegas. Why, you’ll even find shows where animals are the stars of the show and maybe you could walk into a casino and find that it has its shows centered around animals. Vegas really is the place to be if you are looking for fantasy and adventure.

If animals make you go gaga, you must swing by the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park. This may be one of the smaller zoos you have been to but it makes up with some very rare animals. Here it is that you will be privileged to look upon the last of the Barbary apes in America. You can also look at and enjoy the exotic reptiles, chimps, flamingos, wallabies and emus.

You can do some animal watching in Las Vegas not just in the zoos but in museums too. You might just catch some free shows. Of course, you’ll find animal acts at some of the casinos as well. When in Vegas, don’t miss the Mirage. You’ll find the White Tiger Habitat here where you can see these magnificent beasts in pristine white surroundings. Why white? So the animals can blend in and feel secure to some extent. These creatures are extinct now in the wild so you can count yourself lucky to be able to see them and as a free exhibit at that!

Here at the Mirage, you’ll also find the Mirage Aquarium with its huge artificial coral reef and sixty species that belong to the coral reefs from all over the world. It is a 20,000-gallon saltwater aquarium that is just behind the front desk and displays a host of exotic sea creatures. You’ll also find the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat here. This provides a healthy environment for these wonderful creatures and is also a great place for people to be educated about the role they play in the ecosystem. If you are over 13, you could pay a price and become a trainer for one whole day and this makes for a truly magical experience.

If you’d like some more glimpses into marine life, don’t forget the Mandalay Baby Shark Reef which happens to be amongst the largest when it comes to marine exhibits in the U.S. There is an entrance fee but it’s worth spending that money because it really is one of the best outings you can have in Las Vegas. All this is just a foretaste of what Vegas offers. There’s a lot more to see of course. If you’re an animal lover, you’ll find so much that’s right up your street in Vegas.
